What does SDC do?

We "provide our customers and their clients with a great banking experience at a competitive price". This is our vision as a company. SDC is a critical actor in the financial infrastructure in the Nordics. We are a wall-to-wall IT service provider delivering full suite IT solutions to more than 100 banks in the Nordics. SDC's core service is to develop and operate bank solutions to the Nordic market. SDC provides a common Nordic platform that is adpated to the individual countries legislation and language. This means that we have created a community of great bank experience across borders while being comply with the individual countries legislation and rules.

We are among the oldest of IT companies you can find but are young in our spirit. We are non-profit being customer owned. Our history in brief

The early ages of SDC (1960's-1980's)

SDC is establish in 1963 with the purpose of electronic accounting for the danish savings banks. SDC experiences great growth and after opening the first central in Copenhagen in 1964, SDC is expanding to Aarhus in 1966 and Odense in 1967.

World class core banking system

In the 1990's SDC realized that to remain competitive international growth would be necessary. Limited by a core system based on Danish market conditions SDC decided to do an open hart surgery and replace the entire Core Banking system with a new one which is independent of country, legislation and currency.

International growth

During the 00's SDC's Nordic growth gained speed and both Norwegian and Swedish customers came onboard SDC's Banking IT solutions.

More than 100 different Nordic banks are using SDCs banking IT services.

Lift off from mainframe

During the 10's and due to a massive increase in expensive mainframe transactions rooted in the growing usage of self-servicing IT systems (e.g. net / mobile banking) SDC decided to lift off from mainframe. A task that no other financial institution had done successfully on the same scale. Now most of SDCs banking systems are running on Microsoft servers, which has lowered costs significantly.

We expand our muscles in Poland

In 2014 SDC hired the first Polish IT specialists to assist in developing the banking IT services. It was a great success and now SDC has a development center in Warsaw which counts around 300 people.

Since 2015 SDC has replaced a great number of legacy IT systems with modern and efficient solutions that has taken SDC to become a leader in the Nordic market for Banking IT. We have some of the best and most affordable solutions within Banking that you can find.
